Mils System 800

System 800 was a family of key generators and cipher machines, developed and built by Mils Elektronik in Mils (Austria), introduced in the late 1970s with the first family member: the ME-800 random key generator. It was the first key generator that could save to floppy discs as well as to punched paper tape.

ME-800
The ME-800 was a true random key generator that could save its data to punched paper tape as well as to 5¼" floppy discs. If was the first member of the 800-family that was introduced in the late 1970s.

The ME-810 was a complete management system for the production and distribution of key material that was delivered on two identical floppy discs.

ME-830
The ME-830 was a fully electronic online/offline cipher machine for teleprinter signals (telex) and (optionally) fax and text-based messages. It consisted of a system unit, an external printer and a tape reader/puncher.

ME-840
The ME-840 was an off-line cipher machine for teleprinter networks (telex), developed in the early 1980s as the successor to the TT-360. The machine offers unbreakable encryption, based on the One-Time Pad (OTP). In addition to paper tape, the machine could also use 5¼" floppy discs as the key medium.
