OTT cipher machine (mixer)
- wanted item
|
The ME-830 was an on-line and off-line cipher machine for teleprinter
networks, developed by Mils Elektronik in Mils (Austria)
in the mid-1980s. The device was build around a standard PC of the era
and was suitable for telex messages and, via an upgrade, for fax and text messages.
|
The M-830 supported two types of encryption: algorithm-based encryption by
means of a built-in key generator, and, for high-level messages, the
unbreakable One-Time Pad cipher (OTP).
